Interview with Krishna

I wanted to reach Krishna’s abode in time. The time allotted for interview was the last yaama of the night (That is brahmamuhurtha or IST 4 AM)

The moment I saw Krishna’s radiant face, I experienced an utter bliss. Wow! An epitome of happiness, love and beauty. As my gaze turned towards his attire, I was perplexed for a while…. What? Krishna in a pink colored pajama with a blue colored t-shirt.

Krishna was engrossed in watching the world cup cricket on a LCD T.V – A classic India-Pak match.

“Pranam and good morning” I said. Krishna looked at me. His pleasant face beamed with a disarming smile.

He said “Hey, you…come on in…Sit down, Uday…” I sat down.

There was no chair – just a grass-mat. What a contradiction – Modern LCD and grass mat.

A sudden roar in TV. Sachin hit six. Krishna was very happy, jumping and applauding. Just like a kid.

Then after sometime, one ball came hurling from Pakistani bowler and Sachin was out.

Again, Krishna jumped up and applauded.

I got both annoyed and confused.

“Sir, are you with India or Pakistan?” I asked with an edge in my voice.

“I don’t take sides; I just enjoy the game…” Krishna smiled. Then asked me: “How come I am a ‘Sir’ today…You used to call me just Krishna”

“Sir, it is out of respect”

“I prefer love to respect…” again that disarming smile.

“Ok, can we start?”

“Of course, what would you like to have? Butter or a glass of milk?”

“This morning time? I prefer to have tea…”

“Tathastu” (Amen)

Suddenly, a steaming cup of hot tea appeared in front of me. What an aroma!

“Ha ha…just a magic trick…don’t drink it…it just happened in your sankalp…”

“I guessed so” I wanted to hide my embarrassment.

“Don’t lie to me…I can see a thought before it comes to you…So don’t even think of manipulating yourself…I am ok even if you feel angry at me…” Krishna assured.

“Ok Krishna…you said, you don’t take sides…you mean to say you don’t support good people?”

“Two persons coming to me…a thief and a policeman…thief wants to steal something solid and policeman wants to catch the thief…whom shall I support?”

“Of course, the policeman…”

“Prima facie, right. But if the thief’s situation is pathetic and policeman is very corrupt?”

“Then, the thief”

“See – you are not sure and you are blaming me. Please do not evaluate anything based on your perception of truth; there are many more dimensions in life..I can’t take a side…everything, everybody has a purpose in the universe…it is all in existence…your assumption of good and bad is just your perception” (I remembered, Krishna never takes side, but was with Padavas as they were on the path of establishing the rule of the righteous)

“But you said in Gita that you would support good karma…”

“Yes – I definitely will. But that doesn’t mean I would support your version or concept of good karma. Your concept derives from your conditioning. And most of your concepts and perceptions are based on the inputs received from society, community or religion that you are from…Your right and wrong may not be that of mine. Socially right may not be cosmically right. Society is your creation.”

“Hmmm…But you promised that you would come back when the dharma chyuti (Dharma = the principle of cosmic order; Chyuti=destruction) happens…”

“From where should I come back? Where have I gone? I am here and now. You have seen me – lots of people are seeing me every moment…”

I paused for a moment.

“But in the Bhagawat Gita, you have promised….”

“Did you read it?”

“Yes”

“Did you understand it?” the tone of the question is not arrogance. It’s love.

“I think so…”

“But I don’t think so…the questioner was Arjuna, and the answer was to Arjuna or whoever has a subtle ego…I told him the situation won’t change, your attitude towards the situation should change…”

“Did his attitude change?”

“Yes, of course, the situation was the war-field in Kuruksetra – it didn’t change before or after I revealed Gita to him. But Arjuna’s attitude to the situation has changed…that’s what needed. All situations are provided. Why should you try to change or resist the situation? Accept it as is and then, respond or change your course of action, if you want…”

“That’s true…er..But I have a doubt…The Gita has at least 745 verses. Even if it takes one minute to read one verse, it will take 745 minutes = 12.41 hours. All those in the battlefield stood still till then?”

“No…I had sent Gita as ZIP file to Arjuna’s conscious. It’s beyond your knowledge and logic. Your science is yet to evolve and will take few more hundred years to reach that stage. You can now talk to somebody in USA over wireless connections. If you tell this to people who lived 100 years ago, would they believe it?” …..  From my book: “The Secret of Krishna’s Birth: Deciphering The Krishna Code”

I still have questions about why men back then needed so many wives. The reasons given did not seem sufficient to validate having multiple wives.

    • Mahesh says:

Having more than 1 wife is also there now, what about x-CM of Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi. Officially he has 4 wifes.(Un officially dont know ).Also some muslim’s in Malabar area have more than 1 wife.
I understand that if you are capable of taking care of multiple wifes you can marry. Also from official wife you need to get green signal they should be OK to accommodate others.

Indeed a great article. Loved the Introduction. Justifies how the society must think and move. Also just wanted to add that Krishna’s avatar no doubt wiped the tears of Women. The respect given to women is clearly mentioned in Bhagavatha. Also Krishna keeps always smiling. This is clearly indicated in Mahabharatha where you will rarely see him with a frown face. But incidently, what message is in the Gita is not understood by the people now as they search for a scientific reasoning for everything. But we know that science is always based on hypothesis (quoted by the famous scientist Dr. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar) and not truth.

  17. Govindarajan says:

Uday’ji… I am so glad I came across your page…. You have so beautifully expressed what I feel and how God exists, interacts with each one of us. God is fun. God is love. God is within us and in everything we see. The messages we see in mediation are more than just our imagination at play… will be with following your writings. Awesome.

  23. Dear Anna,

I loved the bribery part that was fantastic, yeah its actually truth why god will wait for the part we offer him after we get the money. He can have anything he likes.

But Anna I have a question and feeling which I feel logical.
As you know we call god as Parmatma (Supreme Soul) as well, and for souls there is logic that, souls dont have stomach the feel whatever is in their front, if they want anything they just feel it and they get satisfied, I believe when we offer prasad same applies to God (Parmatma), he feels good when we offer something to him, but only something in my view not too much. can you please guide me.

nicely and easily conveyed the messages in an interview manner. Actually all the old puranas, Srimad bhaghavatham, Ramayana, upanishad, Bhagawat Geetha is also translated just to give good messages to us in a story manner, or advice to shishya etc.,

“Energy cannot be created nor distroyed, can be converted from one form to other” is a universal truth. Total energy is constant and it is gods energy. Each and every particle is having energy and it is gods energy, in turn God” part.

This is my understanding and view. Thank u very much to create a platform like this to express the views.

Krishna always smiles because he got his mind thoughtless completely. Absolute thoughtless mind is directly attached to Almighty that is The Parmatma. The Parmatma is in every particle of the universe. So Lord Krishna was able to create or modify surroundings, atmosphere you can say, suitable for holy souls. Now holy souls are those who have only one aim..feel “The Parmatma”. Lord Krishna shows path to those holy souls, he removes hurdles from this path anyhow..n he knows he can. He was doing these tasks constantly. To get the answer of this question why he is always smiling, you have to experience on your own. Try to be thoughtless, Leaving all feelings, materials, stress leaving behind..with just one aim..you’ll get the answer.

Superb blog! I can see many similarities between Christ and Krishna. Both were down-to-earth. And we can experience both by being humble and ego-less. We can get connected with them directly.
Unfortunately, priests come in between and manipulated entire teachings of Christ and Krishna. They are trying to break our links with gods and establish themselves as borkers. Priests are brokers to hell. Not to god.
Thank you Sir, for sharing great wisdom in simple words through all your blogs. We can really escape from wrong concepts that have been forced upon us for the last few centuries.
May god bless you to give us more!!!

Interesting take on our views and religion Udayji. Enjoyed going through it.
“”It’s a popular misconception that stress is a creation of modern life style. Even during pre-historic period human beings experienced stress in the form of fear…but, as I said, in ancient India, people were seeking truth and real happiness…Now, they think pleasure, enjoyment and comfort provide them happiness”……..very true…..no period of history was ever simple for those living in that period. Difference has come because of our values and the thought that we are more capable because of scientific discoveries.

1.Hey ,I really believe in THEORY OF RELATIVITY and in this co-ordinate plane ,view of the world w.r.t your co-ordinate point is really NICE ,and wise 🙂 .
    2. About the Bhagwat Gita , I think reading it ones and that too from a translated version frome some other fellow being is not enough , evertime the meaining of a verse gets more beautiful depending on our state of receiving it .
    3. Caste system , its gettenting worse .. reservation even in promotions based on caste .. 🙁 , i am not able to figure it out how will this benifit the nation and make it a developed one .

    Dear Dr Uday,
Your blogs are a reader’s delight. You couch flippant dialogues with deep meaning. You have , of course, taken some liberty with Lord Krishna. In fact he is a multi-dimensional personality who played different roles and yet one can not figure out which role stands out. He is one god incarate with whom one can take certain liberty. There is a saying, ” jahi rahi bhavana jaisi, prabhu moorat tin dekhi taisi “( we see the image of god according to our individual perception). Krishna was like that- different to different people. He was playful, serious, a Karmayogi yet not seeming to be actively involved. He was a great warrior but did not choose to participate in the battle of Kurukshetra. He was a godly figure yet He chose to be a charioteer. His concept of dharma is beyond the normally accepted principles of right and wrong. It becomes easier to understand His complex personality if one comprehends His message in the Gita, some of which you have brought out in the blog, rather humourously.
I have , however, a different view about His dialogue with Arjuna in the battle field, which runs into 18 chapters. I think Maharshi Ved Vyas, who compiled His message, dramatised the whole thing as if the entire dialogue took place in the midst of the battle field. This was probably done to create the required ambience of the impending battle, Arjuna’s reluctance to fight after seeing his gurus and kith and kin around, depiction of the battle scene through a third person( Sanjay ) etc. This is much like the way you have entered into dialogue with Krishna , keeping the present scenerio in mind. It is an abridged re-mix version of Gita !

What we need is the true self awareness to find him.

Too good it has cleared so many doubts i feel like reading it again and again.
Best for me was “But why do you want to live more? A few more days or years in your life – will it make any difference in cosmic? In your body, at least one billion cells take birth and die every day. Do you feel any difference? If one cell is not dying in time and begin reproduction or a cell dies pre-maturely, it can even cause cancer and pain, right? So leave it yaar…let us be happy till we die and more happy after death, as we can move around more freely and have fun…Even Sun has a life-expectancy, just a few more millions of years than your life-expectancy”.
If one reads it carefully and understands it then greed for long life will go away.

Can’t wait for the next chapter !!!
    Thank you Mr. Uday

  39. Vinay says:

a nice article…full with very good thoughts..but I still feel our society was male dominated even during that time and females didnt have equal status…all incidents and examples in Mahabharat point out towards that…females are always believed to be a weaker sex and were defined a particular role in family and society…they were hailed as mata, God or even higher than God but never given equal opportunity and status (we still do the same things). Varna system has a basic flaw where power was concentrated in the hands of particular class which allowed them to exploit others…it seems we still want to believe that whatever is written in Gita or Mahabharat is eternal truth and everything in it can be justified (we can surely justify it) same mistake as people do with Bible and Qu’ran…

    • Dear Vinay, Varna system was clearly defined, and power was not provided to one class only, Khsatriya had muscle power but they didnt rule the society they were governed by the king, and kings always revered Pandits who had knowledge power, and money was controlled by Vaishya, while daily jobs were given to Shudras and this was their power, as you can see today, we fear of our house maids more than anyone else, even ladies at home dont mess with maids.

you see this is Shudras era which is last in the circle, earlier time was Vaishya era where money was controlling society and before that Muscle power was controlling society means Kshatriya era and first era was Brahmin era where knowledge was everything, Every Yug has 4 eras and this is last era.
