HINDUS DON’T RESPECT WOMEN!

wedMy college mate Zackaria Johne is an atheist. Few years ago we had an opportunity to meet when he told me, “All religions are anti-women. All religious scriptures picturise women in a very derogatory manner. Still, the womenfolk earnestly follow those religions….”

“If such disrespectful attitude existing in any religions, it’s completely unacceptable for me as I believe in gender equality…”

“Haha…You are a practicing Hindu. ‘Women don’t deserve freedom’ says sacred texts in Hinduism….”

“But, Zack, I do not know anything of the sort mentioned in our Vedic texts…”
“You are you are turning blind eyes to your scriptures. The ancient Hindu law-giver Manu clearly says, ‘Pitha rakshathi kaumare, Bharta rakhshathi yauvane, Puthro rakshathi vaardhakye, Na, sthree swathanthryam arhati’. Manu Smriti Chapter 9 Verse 3. This means, a woman is protected by her father in childhood, by husband in her youth, and by son in her old age, and hence she doesn’t deserve freedom….”

“If that’s the meaning of the verse, it is shameful for Sanatan Dharma and highly deplorable.” I said. “But, I have a question – being an atheist why did you write an article “I believe in God”?”Please continue reading at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9PAGLT

That is, God did good that he taught me (punished), but the dignity (nature of the living beings) is also created by you. Dhol, Gavar, Shudra, animal and woman all these are entitled to education.

    Just sharing.
U stated Matha, Pitha, Guru, Theivam. Matha comes first, then Pitha, Guru, lastly Theivam.
The verse is not an order of who first, who last; its a MISCONCEPTION.
It means mother plays the first role of bringing the kid to close to god, since she is the one who had him first and be with him all the time.
Next, the father. He has to feed the kid with knowledge on God and religion.
Then, guru. The parents send the kid to guru t get advanced knowledge. Together, all this three plays role to bring the kid close to God.
The education is for you to be ‘Saranagathi’, which eliminates you from the cycle of birth and death.
Our prime purpose of life is to reach His feet.

(What if a mother or a father is a criminal, can they be more important than the God Himself?)

It is precarious that people with little knowledge, are making magnanimous claims. There are numerous examples in Hindu scriptures and even religious practices which amply proves high seat of women, which has been provided. Please read one more quote, “Yatra Naryastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Devata”.
