Brahmins – Victims are penalized!

Brahmin1
They say:
1. Indian Brahmins have been oppressing the lower caste population in India.
2. Brahmins introduced the inhuman “untouchability”
3. Brahmins are cunning, parasitic exploiters and creators of the iniquitous caste system.
4. Indian sub-continent’s biggest problem was 5000 years of Brahmin oppression!
5. Brahmins never allowed others to read and write or to learn Sanskrit!
6. Brahmins are arrogant, dis-respective, communal and abusive extremists who whip the dalits (lower caste Hindus) till they die.
7. Brahmins exploited and continue to exploit everyone else.
8. Brahmins authored the Hindu scriptures just to ensure their own highest position in the social hierarchy.

The list is endless! And any educated person believes this as 100% truth. Even those who born in today’s Brahmin caste are apologetic about their birth due to these “truths”!

However, these ‘truth’ arguments clearly lack historical validity and logical consistency. It is merely a case of “repeat a lie a hundred times and it will become the truth”. (Joseph Goebbels’ theory). It is amazing to see that how fiction can become truth in course of time!

Let’s examine truth based on facts and real history.

To start with, there is no SINGLE Brahmin god in Hinduism! All gods are from backward castes, dalits and tribals. Brahmins never created the concept of Gods in Hinduism.

There was no even SINGLE Brahmin King that ruled India. To be able to oppress others requires positions of power. The Brahmin’s traditional occupation was that of temple priest (purohit) officiating religious functions. Their sole income was Biksha (alms) given by the land-lords (non-Brahmins). And another section of Brahmins were teachers, that too without salary.

Vedic literature was mostly written by non-Brahmins! The most powerful of the dharma shaastra, that gives Brahmins a high status, is the Manusmriti written by Manu, a non-Brahmin. Brahmin means a profession (Varna) then, not a caste.

If the reading and writing of Sanskrit was confined to Brahmins then how do you have the tribal Valmiki composing Ramayana? Ved Vyas, who classified four vedas and wrote Mahabharata, was born to a fisher-woman. Sanskrit was used mostly by non-Brahmin writers – there are very few scriptures in Sanskrit authored by Brahmins.

I dont think the point in defense are correct. They seems to digress completely from the goal of the defense that you have written. There are no points to back.I am afraid to say its not correct.
To mentioned something here i am not Shudra for that matter to challenge ur blog.Just felt the logical explanation given by you was not correct

Kuchella(sudhama) was a brahmin, Who did show his selfish nature with krishna by not sharing food while he was starving with hunger, Hence Karma made him Kuchella. Manu consider themselves from The Vishwakarma community refer to themselves as the Viswabrahmin . Gandhi comes from an upper class community of Bhaniyas, and he didnt see oppression in indian culture untill he was treated the same in South Africa, All examples are from upper class, and the brains behind them were the Brahmin gurus and Fear that has been sowed in the name of God which has no existential proof. Ekalvya was a victim of such treatment by Pandava & Kauvrava’s guru to divide between a tribe & Kshatriya… To keep the confidence of the powerfull kshatriya in their side than letting the talent flourish from any being. The biggest Scam Ever to happen in this world is Brahminism… Of making a revenue model of something that does not exist and inducing fear and inferiority among the most powerfull people. Brahmin’s have been the King makers and controlers of these powerfull people. Infact I believe Bharminism is a characterstic feature that can be seen in any culture and cast….(for example: Contemporary Brahmins are the Software Engineers) but few charecterstic of heridtory behaviour can be seen in offsprings of the cast, like in course of time there could be spillage of DNA in the next generation, as per the anthropological study…. It is believed DNA and upbringing in same environment contribute to continuation of certain identical characteristic of Selfishness, Cunning, Superior and Dominating features in Brahmin, Hence they are one of the most evolved Human Species.. and The same is not in the suppressed community as there is lot of inferiority, introvert nature imbibed due to many centuries of oppression. I would call it an unplanned evolutionary experiment done on Humans in India. I may be wrong… But it is my analysis… And I hope the author of this blog should admit, its mere theory and asumption he is coming u with and has scope for Debate… Let’s not believe bullshit that we have heard from past many decade without questioning anything… I would like to invite the Author for a Head to Head talk with Historian and Scholar and discuss this issue such that no wrong person is targeted, be it a Brahmin or a Dalith both are human.. Lets try and bring Harmony and agree if we are more previlaged or not…

Nice Article. One add on. I am a Kerala Namboodiri Brahmin. We may have been landlords and rich at some point of time in history but Namboodiris abhorred violence and never killed or even harmed anyone. Rather they used their riches to feed and clothe others free

  14. K Manikandan says:

    Dear Sir,
I circulated your article in my circle of friends & acquintances.
A friend, Christian by birth, communist by conviction, sent me the following observations from his point of view.
“This attachment may please some brahmins but not all. It is correct to say that there was no single brahmin god in hinduism. but all gods are taken possession by brahmins and others are not allowed to enter the sacred inner portion. God understands no language but it is told by brahmins that god understands only sanskrit. This is folly to forbid others from becoming temple priests. Till 70s in all Roman Catholic churches the prayers were in latin, Due to some opposition it is changed to local languages. Whether god understands or not the people should understand the prayer. In temples of Tamil God Murgan, the prayer is in Sanskrit. Why so much hurdles are put forth in allowing other caste people becoming temple priest? All Muslim rulers are not invaders and specially rulers after Akbar are not. This lie is systematically repeated to treat all Muslims a common enemy. All Hindu kings are not the holiest. Something is written on Francis Xavier it is not worth responding.”

Kindly advise me how to respond.

excelllently written with a dispasionist view. should be circulated to the maximum because of the present state of affairs mostly all brahmins are fleeing the country like us europe australia and the migrated countries are reaping thr benefit.

Just curious to know your take on RavaN the brahmin, who did not take undue advantage of situation but waited for sita’s consent.
    Namaskaar
    Jai ho

I want to copy and post it on FB! Will I get the permission! Thank you!

  24. T says:

Point(s) noted! However, why do priests at temples look down upon those devotees that are not actually brahmins? I had been to Udipi once and witnessed it. If a “Brahmin” means one who is educated, shouldn’t they lead the way in making everyone understand that what happened in the past was actually a situation created out of circumstances? Only when abroad, I see that Brahmins mingle with others. However, once back in India, it is like “When in Rome……”

  25. yashas says:

    nice work sir……

  26. Prahlad Rao says:

very dispassionately written with facts. Unfortunately people have created this vision about Brahmins. 60 yrs of Congress rule is also equally to be blamed for hiding all the facts for their own political reasons. This is truly appreaciable.

  27. Satya says:

Excellent writing. Actually only two castes were suppressed one is dalits and other is brahmins. Both were without power, money or any other material superiority. One was denied superiority and other one was forced to live with false superiority.

  28. Vijaya Chandra Kumar Chambravalli says:

Very clearly presented without any emotional conclusions but with rational observations.
